The term “plastic surgery” refers to both cosmetic and reconstructive surgery. Dr. Taylor is skilled in both. Dr. Taylor specializes in cosmetic surgeries of the face, body and breasts. Cosmetic surgery is generally sought by patients to improve their appearance, and is not covered by insurance.
Reconstructive surgery repairs damage from disease, surgery, injury, or birth defects and may be covered by your health insurance, or in case of an auto accident, by your auto insurance.
Dr. Taylor has dedicated a portion of her practice to assist breast reconstruction patients after mastectomies; breast reconstruction stage one, stage two and nipple reconstruction after breast cancer. Because of the large number of patients requiring breast reconstruction, she must refer elsewhere new patients that need breast reconstruction revision, breast reconstruction after radiation, and excision of lesions on the face or body.
A consultation with Helen Hart Taylor, our office manager, is part of your first visit. You will leave with a comprehensive package of information, including fees and costs, and payment options, which you can consider at your leisure once you are home.
If you need financial assistance Helen encourages patients to first go to the banker that has their checking account. That banker wants to loan money so give them the opportunity to know what you need. If the banker cannot help you she will give you the name of a financial institution you can telephone and ask if they are able to loan you money. The interest rate will be higher than a bank or credit union.
All cosmetic fees must be paid approximately two weeks prior to the procedure. In order to book a procedure a ten percent non refundable deposit is due at the time of booking.

Due to the demand for Dr. Taylor to perform breast reconstruction we accept patients who have other insurance coverage. We will work with you and most insurance companies. Feel free to call our office and ask if we are able to accept your insurance company. If you have an HMO plan your primary care physician must seek authorization to have you seen in this office prior to an appointment.
