Scar revision is an effective way to reduce the appearance of many different types of scars. Some of the more common types of scars are keloid and hypertrophic scars. Both scar types appear as raised, red tissue that puckers up. The scar tissue can appear anywhere on the body and may take over a year to start to fade. Keloid scars can expand beyond the borders of the original wound, whereas hypertrophic scars do not.
